I know, I know... its been a long time. Since its been awhile I'll update you on somethings going on around here.

Things are picking up with the kids and sports. Keely is playing fast pitch softball and we had two games last Saturday. They don't keep score, but you know the parents are and we won both of them! She has two or three games per week so we are busy with that.

Katelyn has been participating in Special Olympics over the last few months. Basketball, volleyball and track and field events. Track and field is where she excelled, she did the 50yrd dash in 9.2 sec and came in first place! She was so excited she just kept running after the broke through the tape at the end!

Cole’s sports consist of riding four wheelers and playing in the mud!! He, Pop and Craig have gone on a few riding trips over the last few weeks. Everyday he gets to spend time in the mud. Just Tuesday night I spent over an hour cleaning his cars, trucks and tractors in my bathtub! What a mess. There was so much mud it took an over night soak to get some of them clean. Boys and mud.. they just go together.

Craig’s birthday is tomorrow so the kids are going to spend some time at my moms and maybe he and I will spend some time hanging out together and shopping (for those of you who don’t know my husband loves to shop and clean, I should tell my mother in law how thankful I am that she taught her son well)

We spent some time in VA visiting our friends not too long ago. We spend a day in DC and took a trip to Mt Vernon. We spent one day visiting different wineries (without the kids) and brought home lots to sample. We all had a great time and it was nice to see old friends again.

My embroidery machine is in the shop for some cleaning and replacing a sensor, so it should be home soon. It was like a mini vacation for me. But because I need to create something everyday I started making bows to decorate flip flops. Well bow making isn’t as easy as one may think but after much practice and lots of ribbon purchases I think I did it. This may lead into some new items in my etsy shop!

Now that the Spring/SummerJelly Beans Consignment sale is over we are starting work on the Fall sale which will take place in late Aug or early Sept. It was a Fantastic sale with lots of fun goodies for everyone! After selling well over 3000 total items we were excited and wiped out! We look forward to our fall sale.

Not to mention PTO is busier than ever right now. In addition to end of the year field trips and TCAP testing. Oh, only 3 ½ weeks till summer!

Chalkboard Project

Chalkboard Project Time

After finding this fantastic treasure at my local Goodwill for only $1.49!!! I knew what I wanted to do....

Step 1

First I removed the back that held the

chalk board and cork board in place.

This is what it looked like after they were removed.

Step 2

Clean clean clean.

Step 3

Using calkboard paint from your local hardware store, paint the chalkboard surface. I did this because the chalkboard was a bit used looking and this gave it a fresh clean look.

Plus I wanted to use the paint :)

Step 4

Spray paint the frame.

Step 5
Cover Cork with fabric.
Supplies needed: fabric, glue gun and something to cover

Step 6
Replace all parts!

Keely the Cupcake Maker

Here we are on the 4th day with no school. We're on what seems to be an endless break due to the bitterly cold weather and a slight dusting of snow. After six days with out school (counting the weekend) we(the kids) decided we(them)needed to make cupcakes with Keelys Christmas gift from Santa.

So the morning started at 7:45am

(with no school for the last few days my kids are SOOOOO NOT on a schedule). Woke up to find two short people in my bed....sideways! Craig had left for work before the sun was up, I'm sure I don't really know what time he left becaues he didn't even wake me! And thats a good thing for him because I would have been one moody mom.

I think he leaves so early just so he will miss the morning fun and crazyness that happens here, But thats just my take on it. I know if I could sneak out I would!!

Then off to check the emails and other embroidery stuff.

Back to the kitchen for some baking. If you've never seen this little cupcake thing your missing out. It bakes the cupcakes in 30sec in the microwave! Now thats my kinda baking. And for the kids... well quick is the way to go. I wasn't lucky or brave enough to try one of the cupcakes but the kids love them.

The Baker came with enough to make 4 cupcakes and we made 3. Keely being the planner decided she wanted to have an extra for later. "I might need a cupcake snack and don't want to wait for you to bake them in the big oven, mom." Sounded like a plan to me. This was so easy for me and fun for them. And who wouldn't want cupcakes at 9am?

After 21 months of NO gum, popcorn, tootie rolls, sticky candy

or anything else that could

get caught in her braces WE are now braces FREE!!!!

I say we because it was just as hard for us keeping

her on track with brushing and the everyday, twice a day routine !

After a painful 2 1/2 hours of taking off the braces she was on her way home to sleep it off.
And smile the whole day. On the way home she had a few treats: Gum, tooties rolls and some other sticky treats. But at home... bring on the popcorn!

Woo Hoo!!! 3 weeks and now their back in school! Not that I don't love to spend time with my kids, I do. But my husband was home for 3 weeks too! Now with that said it should have been a walk in the park, right? Not at all. You see my husband is what some would call a CLEAN FREAK. But he wants to do the cleaning and I suddenly become his assistant. I know, I know, some of you ladies out there can't get your husbands to do anything! And I can get mine to stop and just relax for a bit! We had a project everyday, yep even Christmas morning we had to have all the boxed and paper picked up and put in the proper trash cans. Now I can tell you a 13 yr old, 5 yr old and 3 yr old have NO desire to sort boxes and paper on Christmas morning. So that task was left to mom and dad, well mostly dad. I was too busy taking the photos that you saw in the post below of them in the mess! I am thankful that I never have to do laundry, except on the rare chance that he's out of town. Then I just wait till he get home to do it. My kids know this and they're ok with it. And I'm ok with it so it works for us. I am, however, trying to find a way to rent him out for housekeeping. You know, just to make a little extra $$ and get a break from being his assistant.
But now its back to the business of being a mom. A PTO treasurer, Crafter, Wife, Chef, Chauffeur, Personal Assistant, Mind Reader, Nurse, Bike Mechanic and a dozen other trades persons. And Yep I have a hat for each one!

Resolution Time

A New Year's resolution as defined by Wikipedia is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until fulfilled or abandoned.

If your like most people, January is the time for resolutions. My mother in law just asked me a few days ago “what my resolutions were?”. And I responded “nothing different that what we don’t hope to change or make better every day.”

Which got me to thinking...... Habits that I want to reform or make better???....... So now I have come up with a few.

Top on OUR (I say our because it will take both my husband and myself to complete this task) list is to be more in control of our money. And Save Save Save!
With my husband as our only income source, working in an automobile factory, this feeling of endless security has come and gone over the last 6 months. We are very thankful that he has a great job that pays well. But now realize that there are no guarantees that he will have a job at all.

Of course exercise more. Like most this is on my list AGAIN this year.

For me, I would like to grow my embroidery hobby. Expand and Grow! Which would be the total opposite of what I want my body to do. Hence the above resolution.

So those are my top 3. What are yours?

Holiday Clean Up In full Swing

Above are pictures of the Christmas Morning Mess and two little one in the middle of it! We had a very blessed and wonderful Holiday. I hope each one of you did too!

I began the tedious process of removing Christmas decorations at my house today.... All by myself!

I’ve started by taking down two of the four trees and so far I’ve managed to remove all the ornaments and safely packed them away for next year.

Wreaths removed from all window (except the ones that were laying in the mud, their still in the mud. For now, I’ll let the hubby get those.) Garland removed from Stair banisters, catwalk and mantel.

With DecorationsWithoutSix large totes sit waiting for my dear sweet husband to carry them to the attic and while he’s in there I need him to bring down the boxes to store the trees in.

The house looks bare without all the decorations. It didn’t look cluttered with them did it? Anyway still more to do, remove the leaf from the dinning room table(have to wait for hubby for that) Pack up Christmas dinnerware. Then redecorate with the next season!

yes I am blessed. And others are too, wether they know it or not. I know that because today I witnessed a terrible car accident. I was on the interstate two cars behind a young girl in a black sports car. I notice she was drifting to the left a bit but thought she just wasn’t paying attention. She did this for about ½ mile. I was trying to stay out of her way so I slowed down a bit. Just to be behind her if she over corrected and came over into my lane. But that wasn’t what happened. In the blink of an eye she veered over to the left again but this time she hit a guard rail and flipped her car over and down into a concrete drainage area. In a second she was upside down with her car smoking. Frightened and worried about this young girl I didn’t stop to think I just pulled my car over and jumped out. Running along side the interstate and jumping down into this drain fear struck me. What would I find when I got to the car? Expecting to see the worst. Another lady who had also seen the accident was there beside me and then a third person came to help. As we were trying to pull the door open on this car that was upside down I hear her crying, scared and frightened. This young girl who was wearing her seatbelt was safe in her car hanging there. We removed her from her car fearing it was about to catch on fire because it was smoking. There was this 16 yr old girl scared to death with only a cut on her finger and a bruise on her hip. She called her father using my cell phone and just began to sob uncontrollably. I spoke to her father explaining that she seemed ok but that they were taking her to the hospital just to make sure. She was truly blessed. The police and paramedics said the expected to find someone who was dead or badly injured at the least. I saw a miracle today as God watched over her. And as more than 50 people stopped to help. I later received a phone call from her mother thanking me and telling me that she was fine at home and resting and how thankful she was that so many people were there to help her baby. Today reminded me not to take one second for granted. you never know. So now I’m off to hold my babies and tell them how very much they are loved.

Its Snowing Here!!! not sticking but snowing!

December 1st... the countdown to Christmas begins! As the days start to turn colder my calendar starts to fill quickly. My December, like many of your, becomes a guessing game of how do we fit one more thing into our schedule. We want to spend time with everyone and hate to say no to any party or celebration. (And we usually don’t say no) Christmas only comes once a year and we enjoy celebrating with our family and friends.

We have one event that has been scheduled for sometime now. And I’m anxiously looking forward to the celebration. It’s a progressive dinner with neighborhood friends. For those of you who don’t know what a progressive dinner is, it where a group of friends or families travel from home to home to admire the homeowners decorations and partake in a few delicious goodies. Our first stop will for appetizers and drinks. Then after about an hour or two we move on to the next home for soup and salad, then main dish and last but not least desserts. Spending a few hours at each home with friends will be a great treat this holiday season. My house will be the soup and salad stop. I’m looking for a spectacular soup that will WOW everyone. So if anyone has any recipes I would love to here about them. The salad will be a spring mix topped with sliced strawberry and toasted sesame seeds. All topped off by a sweet and tangy dressing with poppy seeds. We were introduced to this fantastic salad by my husbands Aunt Wendy from NC. Thanks Wendy, we loved it so much we have it all the time now!

Okay, I know its not even Thanksgiving yet. I normally don’t begin to decorate until Thanksgiving is over. However this year I seem to be in the Christmas Spirit earlier that normal. And my sweet husband has been encouraging me to "start decorating"! Well you don't have to tell me twice.

This past weekend while I was at the Christmas Open house, which by the way went very well, Craig went up to the attic and gathered ALL the totes that I store my Christmas decorations in. For those of you who don't know, I love and I mean LOVE to decorate Christmas trees. As a matter of fact it was my job before I had a husband and kids. I was a visual merchandiser for a department store. With that being said I DO know that I can go a bit overboard according to normal standards. It doesn't seem like a chore or work to me so I don't mind and Craig doesn't seem to care. As long as I'm not hammering nails in his wall! As a matter of fact he was very helpful this year.

Two years ago this December we moved in to our current home. It was December 8th and the second (clothes were first) thing I unpacked was our Christmas decorations. I had two trees up, decorated and ready to greet our neighbors as they stopped by to welcome us to the neighborhood. Last year I had one fully decorated tree and two pencil trees with lights. This year I've added another tree. Because our family room is very open I've added a 9ft slimline tree. I am adding the wreaths to the outside windows and another to our garage door, decorating the mantle, hang the stocking and then I'm done!!!! That’s right, Done!!!

I have 2 decorated trees, 2 pencil trees, wreaths on the double doors, snowmen on the buffet and gifts wrapped and under the trees. And all this BEFORE Thanksgiving! I'll share photos of the decorations soon. Start decorating.

As per my mother in laws request I am posting more photos of the kids and less embroidery/craft pics............ today that is.

These are the "afters" of our day at our local diva dress up shop here in town. The girls got their nails, hair and makeup done. Then they made their own special lotion or body spray. Two hours later and we were out of there. (I did get some embroidery jobs while there too) Cole stayed home with dad. But he sure wanted to go. He did, however, join in on the photo session.

We did this to celebrate our last few days of summer before school starts. I wish I had taken a pic of what they looked like that night. Because you would never believe that after 2 hrs of divaing(I made that word up all by myself) these sweet little princess' were out in the heat riding bikes through the wood and in the dirt. And to top it all off they had a water balloon fight! So much for making them little ladies.....

And by the way, Ella says "Hi Grandma Kim"!

I have been busy making things this week! And its only Tuesday! Busy Busy.

I've been designing an apron for kids crayons. I hope to have a photo of it on the blog today or tomorrow at the latest. Its so cute! I made a girl apron, now I'm working on a boy one. It should be done today. (I hope) But until then here are some photos of some key chains. "Mommy" and one of the polk a dot key chains were custom orders. The bag I just did because I thought the little gymnastics girl was too cute. And the scrapbooking pages was a custom order for a sweet lady in FL. Its a 1st year album I did for her baby girl Reagan.

Yep next week its back to school for Katelyn who will be going to middle school. Where did the time go? And sweet little Keely will be in Kindergarten! It seems like just yesterday that she was a baby. Oh wait.... yesterday we played house and she was the baby! But you all know what I mean.

Take a look at miss Keely at soccer camp today. How do you like that GANG bandanna? It was so hot this morning so we wet the bandanna and this is how Keely kept cool. Now back to that kick. Just look at that form. David Beckham look out! And the pink shoes, guards and ball are too cute! You know a girls gota have her pink accessories.

Now this one is priceless! look at that air under those feet. You go Keely!

One good thing about the girls in school is that I will get to clean my house and get some embroidery work done. Cole will even be at Mothers day out two days a week.

I never knew how many people wanted things embroidered. Now, I am in no way complaining about it. In fact I love it. I do have a few things I'm working on for some of my customers right now. I love being busy. If I didn't have something to embroider or sew or scrapbook what would I do with all my EXTRA time?

Speaking of extra time and because I have so much of it I'm having a garage sale tomorrow and Friday. And with some more of my extra time.. We've been planning the next Jelly Beans Consignment Sale. And with some left over extra time from weeks ago I'm in full PTA mode for the upcoming school year. For those of you that don't know I (for some unknown reason) volunteered to be the treasurer for Keely's school PTA.

Okay, I'm off to embroider some shirts. Oh by the way I did two hats last week. Take a look.

Decorating without nails in the wall.

BEFORE

I've had this nightstand for a few years. I think I paid about $10 for it at the goodwill. I say $10 because I'm pretty cheep and would not have paid much more than that. Maybe $12 but that's it.

When I purchased it I decided i need to paint it. So I painted it in a very whimsical look (back when I painted it it was whimsical now its just tacky). Last week I decided my girls needed an updated nightstand between their beds. Plus it had make up, lip gloss, crayon, pen marks and cup rings on the top. Yep all those were on there!

Step 1. Find a well made piece of furniture that has great shape.

Step 2. Sand all past paint drips, ruff edges or chips smooth.

Step 3. Prime with spray primer. Its goes faster if you use a spray and is much easier to clean up. I used white because I was going to paint a light color. If you plan on using a dark color as your finished color I would go with a gray primer.

Step 3. Paint with desired color I use a light green spray paint by Krylon (I think, I've thrown the cans away already). You may need more than one coat. I did two.

Step 4. Using an electric sander, sand edges so that some of the wood and bottom paint layer shows.

Step 5. Add stain with a foam brush. Let sit for just a minute and wipe off with an old towel. Repeat until you get the desired contrast from the stain. I use dark walnut stain and it only took one coat.

More Nails in the walls..

Well here they are, 4 more nails in the wall. All photos of the family so that makes it ok! I put this table together in no time. Fabric on the bottom was 60 cents per yard!!!! Can you believe that? I bought over 12 yards. What a big spender I am. Black and white fabric is left over from some project I'm sure I never finished. ( or maybe didn't even start for that matter) Hot glued some trim, put it on the table and there you have it! I put it beside my front doors so everyone that comes in can see it. I just love it.

More latter on another spray painting project I'm working on. Off to watch a movie! Have a great rest of the weekend.

I do!

Most of the time when I decide to Create something it NEVER turns out like I had imagined it would. But not this time! When I just happened to find this wooden compote (I sound fancy smancy, don't I?) at where else but the goodwill, I just couldn't leave it there. It asked me to take it home and fancy it up a bit. You know how objects in stores just talk to you? You know things call your name when your shopping, right? I'm not the only one who hears things asking me to buy them, right?

Well just look at this poor little compote (footed bowl, as my grandma would say. Where are it's toes if it has a foot?) . She was sad, beautiful shape and in fantastic condition. But stained wood? I guess I could have made it work someplace in my home just the way she was. You know me better than that. I have to alter it in some way!

I haven't shared with you my most recent fascination.... spray paint! So there you have it this little compote was going to get a nice coat of black paint. Spray paint that is, I wouldn't want brush strokes on my master piece would I? After a few coats of matte black paint a bit of sanding and two coats of dark walnut stain she has made her way to her new home. Lovingly placed on my recently added accent table in my living room.

I must add that my dear husband is opposed to any cluttering of our home. So he's not as impressed with my talents(not sure that spray painting is a talent? But I'm going to say it is) as I am. He would prefer that I leave ALL and I mean ALL the walls blank!! What? Is he crazy? He knew when he married me I was a Visual Merchandiser for a department store. And its in my blood. He has the garage... I get the rest of the house.

I'm off to hammer a nail in a wall someplace! Maybe even 4 nails... I have an idea. I'll share with you tomorrow how it turns out!

We had a fun filled day yesterday! We left for the zoo at 9am got home around 4pm!! As if that wasn't enough fun for one day, we decided to take the kids to the pool! We were there from 6:30 till 8pm! Now let me just say how easy it was to get my kids to go to bed and sleep ALL night!

These are a few of the things that remind me how sweet summer truly is. Flip Flops, at our house, are a staple. Everyone has at least 2 pair. Even Cole is into the flip flop addiction.

I am pleased to say that our out of control addiction to shoes is not only limited my kids. It is contagious! My niece Rylee has the same problem. And being the enabler that I am, I made her a pair of flip flops.

Welcome Sweet Little Ella!!!

I've been a bad blogger. And I promise I will be better at posting. No excuses! I just got out of the habit of posting and didn't do it. But I'm going to start posting at least once a week. I promise.......

I'm an Aunt again!!!! Welcome sweet Ella!!

Almost.....You almost had me sweet little Ella. Almost had me convinced I needed another baby! That sweet baby face. Those cute little hands. All that beautiful dark hair. Almost... You almost had me. Those late night cuddles. Those sweet little feet. All those baby clothes. Baby stuff. All the fun things that go along with babies. Sweet little Ella you almost had me. Almost.... You almost had me longing for another baby to hold. Wanting just one more sweet little one. Almost had me. Then I remembered I have three and that sweet baby face will soon be covered with food or dirt most of the day. Those cute little hands will leave hand prints on everything they touch (including my heart) That beautiful hair will have to be washed and lovingly decorated with bows. Those late night cuddles will turn in to late night “mommy can I sleep in your bed?” (Of course you can). Those little feet wont be little long. (I have enough shoes in my house now for a small country). All the baby clothes will turn in to tons of laundry that seems to multiply by themself. (Note to self the laundry must be like those pesky gremlin that replicate when they get wet. Yes that’s how we get so many clothes. I’m not buying them! :) )And all the fun stuff that babies have will soon take over every room of the house. Almost... You almost had me convinced I needed another one sweet little Ella. But it sure was fun to think about. Almost.... You almost had me sweet little Ella. Almost....

Okay anyone who knows me knows I love a bargain.

With that said I'm an avid thrift store shopper. Not to mention garage sales and auctions. But my latest find or finds came from our local thrift store. Now.... 99% of the time I find nothing, I mean nothing, that really causes my heart to skip a beat. But that 1% when I do find that "something" that I didn't even know I was looking for. Well it's just pure and simple pleasure. I don't go in knowing what I'm looking for. (Never go to one of the above mention places looking for something specific, most of the time you'll never find it and you'll be disappointed.) So on this day I was just looking and what to my surprise did I stumble on you might ask? What could have me so excited? It must be something really great, right? Well to me they are priceless but for less than $2 I found the most beautiful vintage Christmas ornaments! Their colors are simply breath taking! The green is a green that you couldn't find today if you looked at every Christmas ornaments made. And the pink ones... oh my just delicious I tell you. For some unexplained reason they reminded me of my Grandmother. I don't recall Christmas' with her nor do I remember her decorations. She passed away when I was very young. But these are the ornaments I imagine her tree to have hanging on every branch.

I knew right away I had to have them and where they would be lovingly placed once they arrived safely and unbroken at my home. They would take up residents on my dining room table in my Grandmothers old antique wooden bread bowl. I love that bowl. I do remember my Grandmother making biscuits in it, this was something she did every morning. I love that bowl. My dad had it for many years and just a few years ago he gave it to me as a birthday gift. It was the most precious and meaningful gift I've ever received. Did I tell you how much I loved that bowl?

Once home I carefully removed the ornaments from their packages and placed them in their new home. Every time I walk by them I smile.... and sometimes a tear or two come to my eyes. Thinking of family this time of year.. how much I love all of my family and how very blessed I am. So with my walk down memory lane and a sniffle or two I remind you to share with your family how much they are loved. Today!

the countdown

And it begins. The countdown until the kids are out of school. The countdown until dh is off work for the Holidays. The countdown of how many days left to shop for "those" gifts that I still haven't gotten yet. The countdown until Christmas!!!! I love this week. The anticipation of it all has me so excited I cant stand it. Today I made 13 gifts for teachers, coaches, neighbors and the mailman. I'll post pictures of them tomorrow. But I'll share what I made. I'm not sure of the technical name but I call them heating pads. You know.... they're fabric filled with rice. Well mine are filled with rice and rosemary from my garden. For some reason I always have so much rosemary?? But I'm glad I do, I use it for so many things besides cooking. I use it in flower arrangements, the thick stems are perfect skewers for meat, tuck it in your drawers, in the bottom of trashcans.... oh and in my heating pads. I also went a step further and embroidered some of the heating pads with the teachers names, neighbors last names, school mascot name and some even have Merry Christmas on them. I did leave a few blank for those drop by guest that I need a quick little gift for. We packed them with bows and instruction tags and then tucked them safely under the tree. I'll pull them out tomorrow and get some photos of them. I also embroidered 2 towels and two fleece throws. And made 40+ chocolate covered marshmallows. Oh and my favorite tread... Magic Cookie Bars. So I was a bit busy today. As I sit here typing away, My girls are tucked safely in bed and my sweet little man... well he's playing with his cars at my feet. Way pasts his bed time, I know, but he's such the night owl. We have a busy day tomorrow so I'm off to get a few things done before bed.

I am really getting into the Christmas spirit. Finally....it was 72 degrees here yesterday! Now.. if I lived in Florida or Hawaii that would be okay. But in the southeast??? We usually have some cool weather. After watching the weather this morning, they are forecasting some snow showers on Saturday. Yea!!! Even if we have a birthday party and a basketball game to go to that afternoon, I welcome any reason to wear some cool weather clothes. Its been a site to see my girls in flip flops and Capri's the last few days. But No more... Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.

Now on to the fun stuff!

And everyday (except Wednesday) Kim shares with all of us a crafty and very talented blogger. I get so many ideas from the blogs she shares. Its like a mall of blogs!!! And I love to shop! Now for a few pictures of my Scrapbook Obsessions December Kit projects

How about a Mitten and Stocking garland? That's what I made as one of my projects this month. And I want you to make one too!

So here's a tutorial, a supply list and a pattern so you can make your own.

Supplies

4 or 5 different pattern papers

eyelets

fabric strips

ink

embellishments - stickers, ribbon, rub ons, deco edge paper etc...

1. Trace pattern onto back of pattern paper and cut out. Cut out as many as you need to make your garland. I cut 4 of each mitten and stocking. (save scraps)

2. Use scraps to embellish the heel and toe of the stockings and the cuff of the mittens. (I free handed these)

3. Punch holes in top edges and add eyelets. (the eyelets add strength so that the fabric strips won't rip the holes)

4. Embellish Mittens and Stockings with ink, stickers, ribbon, rubons, glitter or any other embellishments.

5. Tie together with fabric strips. You can use ribbon if you wish.

6. Hang and enjoy!

Family wreath and our cookie exchange

Okay Okay here it is. This is a wreath I made for my Mother in law (and now I guess for my sister in laws too). It has pics of most of the grand kids... Emily I need a pic of Gracie. I use the fabulous kit from Scrapbook Obsessions it was their Dec Kit. You should stop by the site and pick up the January Kit. Its packed with such great papers and the embellishments this month... oh my. Let me just say they are to good to miss.

1. Start by cutting a large circle from chipboard or foam core board. This can be any size you want. I used chipboard from my 12x12 paper, so mine was 12 inches. Cut the center out. This will form a ring.

2. Cut circles from pattern papers in various sizes. Mine are 2 inches to 4 inches in size.

3. Ink edges of circles.

4. Cut pictures to fit on desired circles.

5. Start by gluing larger circles to ring form. Not all of the form will be covered with the larger ones.

6. Choose a few circles and add rubons to them.

7. Using pop dots add other size circles. Noting where you want to place your photos. ( I do a test run before I glue anything down)

8. Add photos and ribbon to hang.

9. Hang and enjoy.

Also we had a fun time at the cookie exchange on Saturday. Just to tempt you to start baking here are some ever so delicious pictures of some of the wonderful and may I add too beautiful to eat cookies.

Its the eve of our Christmas Party and I'm blogging.... What!!! I have a huge list of things that need to be done but I have such a wonderful husband that has just told me to sit down and don't worry about cleaning. He will be taking care of it tomorrow morning while the girls and I attend a cookie exchange with my mother in law, sister in laws and a few friends. My 80+ cookies are decorated, packaged and ready to go.

I did do something today....My office is clean. Which reminds me I should really take a picture of what it CAN look like instead of what it looks like 90% of the time.

So tonight as my husband puts the kids to bed I'm going to work on our Christmas cards. Thanks to two of my on the ball sister in laws who I received cards from today. (Thanks Heather and Melissa)

Busy busy busy, that's the word of the day today. I paid a quick visit to Sam's Club this morning for party essentials. But before that a day of shopping wouldn't be complete without a stop at my favorite store...Target. After a few Christmas gifts, new pillows and bedding I had successfully overcome my shopping fix. After a late night of baking 100+ candy cane shaped cookies and of course watching Heroes. Oh and a little one up at 3am because she was sick. I was completely wiped out. So I took a quick nap..... only about 30 min. And I must say it totally gave me so fantastic energy. I have great plans to get a ton done this afternoon. But where am I? on the computer!!!! My plan for this afternoon is to get a small project done, clean my office and decorate cookies. And make dinner too. Do you think its okay for kids to have popcorn for dinner? Its a veggie.. right? Kinda....

Good morning! Its the beginning of another busy week here at my house. With a list of things to do I'm here on the computer this morning....why do I procrastinate??? This week is pretty simple but this weekend we're having a Christmas party on Saturday and a cookie swap with my sister in laws Saturday also. That means this week I'll be shopping, cleaning, cooking and decorating. Today I'm making 80+ cookies and shopping for drinks and paper products for the party Saturday. Which leaves little time for playing my my office. But I did spend most of the past weekend working on a few projects. 3 are for Scrapbook Obsessions December newsletter. And here is another album for my SIL Emily. I just love this one. The colors, the top flip and the theme all just work! Enjoy your week!

Okay, The month of October is super busy for us. And this year it proved to be even busier! How dose that happen? Between two birthday parties, cheerleading practice, doctors appointments, cleaning the house, laundry and cooking I did I manage to get some scrapping done. I have a ton of things to post so I'll get started with highlights from October! Here's a look at my October calender.... I think there were 6 or 7 days that I had free for the hole month!

Ole Timers Day. The girls got their hair painted and then they had their picture taken with Aunt Bethany.

Face Painting after Katelyn's school fall festival. But the line was too long to wait and get their faces painted so we came home and I did them!

Katelyns 12th birthday.... two parties = twice the fun!!

Your looking at the first place pumpkin eye. Katelyn had to decorate a pumpkin without cutting it for a contest at her school. This pumpkin was well on its way to being a mummy until the night before they were due (10:30 pm to be exact) Katelyn decided that she wanted to make an eye??? WHAT??? Well this is what she came up with. And she won 1st place!!!!

Halloween!!! Oh what fun! This was our first Halloween in our new house. And I must say after 2 hours of trick or treating I was beat!

And last but not least is a picture from Katelyn's first basketball game that she cheered at. Uncle Tim, Aunt Mary Helen, Maggie & Dylan came over for Dinner before the game and then went to the game with us where we meet up with Aunt Bethany. Katelyn cheered for 3 hours Friday night and then another 3 hours on Saturday night! Boy was she tired!

Okay that takes care of the family stuff! I'll be adding lots of scrap stuff this week!

Playing dress up

My girls and I decide to play dress up. We fixed our hair and put on make up. Anyone that has had their make up done by a 4 yr old and a pre teen can attest to the fact that I looked "wonderful" or as my 4 yr old put it "beautiful" and my 11 yr old said I looked "cool" and I should let her do my make up next time I went to Wal-Mart! Yea, I'll do that!

Then had a photo shoot. Now,there are no pic of me because I believe that my girls, would someday use them to blackmail me. Just thinking ahead.....!

I'm a bit biased but I think my girls are just beautiful and we may have some trouble with the boys IF we let them date. Still thinking about the dating thing like we (the parents) have a choice about it!

Look What My Sweet Girls brought home!!! Where is my dirt lovin little boy while all this was going on you ask? Well he is scared to death of the thing! I had to make my girls and my niece put it in the woods behind our house because I was afraid they would bring it in the house without me knowing! They kept asking "can we keep it? Pleaseeeeeeee, pretty pleaseeeeee!" NO! NO! NO! I kept telling them, he has a mom someplace that is looking for him so you better let him go NOW before she find you and her baby!

I am pleased to announced that the snake is back with his family( I think) My girls let him go in the woods behind our home. So he's back safe and sound. At least he's not in my house!!!

That's what I love about my girls, no fear, just dive right in. Even if it is off of the kid size table into a small pool. No Fear. Don't ya just love this form, on the tip of her toes? My girls just love being in the pool all summer. These pics will make for some great layouts, when I find some time to scrap!!!!!

Meet Bobby.
Yes,Bobby is a blanket. And Bobby isn’t just one blanket. It’s many blankets that each have their own name and special memories. Some are not even blankets. They are doilies or pot holders. Each Bobby has it’s own place in the heart of a little girl named Keely. I’m not sure how this obsession with crocheted blankets began? These Bobbies have been acquired over the years but it all began with just one. They have become part of the family. We have one for the dinner table. One for the car. One for sleep overs. One when she sleeps in mom and dads bed. One for watching movies on the couch. We even have one that went on our vacation to Mexico! What a site to see a little girl on the beach with a blanket all wrapped up. The job of the Bobby is NOT to keep it’s owner warm but to comfort her. Keely intertwines her toes and fingers into the opening of the Bobbies and sucks her thumb. This security is unmatched by anything. The love of a Bobby is unconditional.

Meet Sam Bobby.
Sam Bobby is a Large twin size Bobby. The largest in our collection of Bobbies. It was given to Keely by Grandma Kim. Grandma received it from a neighbor who made it and her was named Sam. Keely felt we should call it Sam Bobby after its maker. And so we do. Sam Bobby is the movie watching Bobby.

Meet Soft Bobby.
Soft Bobby was the first Bobby. Soft Bobby started out as Katelyn's blanket when she was a baby. It was given to Katelyn by Nana. Keely became the new owner when she was born. She liked to cover her head when she slept, and Soft Bobby gave mom piece of mind that she would still be able to breathe with her head covered. Keely named it Soft Bobby because it is very soft. Soft Bobby is the oldest in our collection and being the oldest it has had it share of repairs. Never the less it is the most loved of all Bobbies. It is use for sleep overs and it’s been to Mexico. What other blanket can boost a passport?

Meet White Bobby.
White Bobby is the make do Bobby. When no other Bobby can be found or they are all in the laundry White Bobby will do. Its not the favorite Bobby but at least it’s a Bobby. White Bobby was a gift for Katelyn from Nana. Katelyn eagerly gave it to Keely when she was a baby.
Meet The Other Bobby.The Other Bobby is like White Bobby, a make do’er. A gift from Katelyn. Found at a garage sale, Katelyn spent her own money to buy The Other Bobby for Keely.
Meet Little Bobby Square.Little Bobby is one of many many little Bobbies that we have owned. Little Bobby Square started life out as a pot holder found at a local thrift store. Little Bobby Square is for the car and dinner table.
Meet Little Bobby Round.Little Bobby Round is a favorite for Keely because the crochet loops are so big. This Bobby is for Mom and Dad’s bed.
Bobbies that are no longer with us. Well they could blanket a whole country. All of the Bobbies that we’ve lost are Little Bobbies. They consisted of Bobbies that were Mom’s first attempt to crochet. Small coaster size Bobbies. And many many more. They were each loved dearly.

Here are three layouts using Sept. kit.
First one is Muddy Mess. Anyone who has a boy knows what I'm talking about... they will play in the mud for days if you let them! Cole just loves taking his cars and putting them in the mud. He's not a fan of the pool so he would take his sand bucket over to the edge and get a pail of water to make his mud pile! After it's all over I take him and his cars in for a much needed bubble bath!

Next two are school related layouts. I'm moving Katelyn's school pic over to 12x12. I soon found that I had a ton of school pic left over. And since we were not giving them away I decided to use them in multiples on the layouts. I use the same sketch for each year to make the album flow better.

Here is an acrylic album I made from the Frances Meyers Travel Kit South Pacific. I cut the acrylic myself! **HINT** If you are making your own album most home improvement stores will cut the acrylic for you. **HINT** To smooth the edges of the acrylic use a flame to melt the edges. BE CAREFUL THE ACRYLIC MELTS AND IS HOT only heat it enough to slightly melt the edges!

Acrylic Coaster Album
Who would believe you could make an album from furniture coasters? Well.... everyone would. I have seen some very creative artist make some very creative and inspiring things! I just happened to find these coaster in our garage and decided they were destined to be an album.

You can find these in square and circle shapes and many different sizes. The ones I used are 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

1. drill holes in acrylic FIRST.

2. Cut all pattern paper and add embellishments BEFORE you glue them to coasters. GLUE LAST.
3. Add rub ons along sides of acrylic. Making sure to overlap and burnish them down so they won't peel off.

4. Glue all embellished pages to acrylic.

5. Punch holes in paper.
6. Add ribbon. string tags and other embellishments onto ribbon.

1. cut pattern paper to fit over top. Let edges show.
2. trim sides in blackbird cardstock.
3. layer gaffer tape around the box. over cardstock.
4. remove button from newspaper flower and adhere to top of box.
5. add quiet contentment paper to chipboard heart. sand edges.
6. Add trim to heart. glue heart to newspaper flower.

1. Cut long embrace paper using calendar as the template.
2. Using exacto knife cut flower from enjoying you paper.
3. Adhere to long embrace paper. Some may over hang the edge. (trim before placing inside cover)
4. Trim cardstock sticker (discover) and place along left edge of long embrace paper

1. Cut loving you paper to 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. Adhere to center of shared giggles paper.
2.. Add Rusty Pickle Trim to edge of loving you pattern paper.
3. Place two 4 x 6 photos on paper.
4. Add letters to bottom edge of paper and outline with pen.
5. Use eyelets for center of flowers and buttons. (use glue to add eyelets to the buttons)
6. Place flowers from bottom left corner upwards over photos to upper right corner.
7. Use journaling stamp to stamp on pattern paper. Add journaling.
8. Add family sticker to top right corner.

Around the block transfer tape red ruler

1. Cut Togetherness paper 9 x 9 1/

2. Adhere to chipboard.
3. Cut Secrets paper 2 x 12. place over top edge of togetherness paper.
4. Add photo over secrets paper.
5. Cut title from red cardstock. Outline with white paint pen and black pen. Place on layout and overlapping photo.
6. Paint and ink raw chipboard letters and place on top rt corner.
7. Place gaffer tape along bottom overlapping photo. And along top edge.
8. Use around the block transfer runner to add ruler around togetherness paper.
9. Distress with black ink and red paint.
10. Add rub on tag. Journal.

1. Distress orange cardstock along all edges.

2. Draw design on back of orange cardstock. Use different size hole punchers to for design.

3. Layer teal cardstock under orange so that it shows through the punch outs.
4. Use paint and ink to distress edges of cardstock.5. With teal paint stamp title on orange cardstock. Outline with teal pen.
6. Cut long embrace paper and distress one edge. Place on a slant.
7. Stamp on gaffer tape and add along bottom edge of pattern paper.
8. Add photos over pattern paper.
9. Journal on round journaling sticker
10. Add "memories" sticker to bottom corner and distress with teal paint.

I've been busy over the last few days setting up my very own Etsy Store! I'm still adding items every few days. I would like to have more of my sewing and embroidery items. Check out my funky button rings! I'm also selling some of my altered items. I've run out of room to show them off. I think they need to be displayed and or used! Stop by and pick up a few things.
