Birthday Decorations for our ART PARTY

Well my babies are growing up.... and this past weekend we celebrated Keely's 4th birthday and Cole's 2nd birthday! I can hardly believe how fast the years have passed.

We had an Art party and I wanted to share a few of the decorations with everyone.

Center Piece

To make this I started with a white tin with handles. Place floral foam inside to insert the skewer flowers and paint brushes. I used kitchen skewers and painted them green for the stems of the flowers. Using my Cricut I cut different sizes of two different flowers. Stacking the flowers one over another I added buttons and glued them to the skewers. The balls are some wood accents I panted and glued the the skewers. Paint bushes dipped in paint and left to dry were added too. For the filler I cut different colors of paper into small strips. Then using my paper crimper to give the wave effect. To decorate the tin I printed DREAM, BELIEVE, PLAY, CREATE, INSPIRE & IMAGINE onto clear sticker paper.

Crayon Holder & Covered Crayons

I used old ribbon spools to make this crayon holder. I just cut the end of the spools in half and covered with paper. I also inked the edges of the spool. To cover the crayons, I printed labels with the words INSPIRE, PLAY, CREATE, IMAGINE, DREAM & BELIEVE. I also did the same think to the chalk using full sheets of sticker paper.

Junkitz Projects

Well, April was my last month on the Croppers Cottage Design Team.... I had a wonderful time and will miss being apart of the talented team terribly. I cant wait see what the new and fabulous team has in store for the upcoming year!


I can say that April Designs were my favorite from the whole year. It didn't hurt that I had the yummy Junkits Salsa papers to work with! And with birthdays on my mind I couldn't help myself... so take a look at the cards and altered projects I made for my final farewell from the Croppers Cottage Design Team. I also want to thank my wonderful team mates, each and everyone of you made working on this team a blast!

What I'm working on....

well I've been devouring the new Basic Grey Stella Ruby paper! So completely fantastic! And I've also been playing with the new Basic Grey [un] dressed chipboard Precision File set. This is a must have set for any paper craft er! The possibilities are endless for these clever little things! And to have everything packaged together... just fabulous! I cant even start to tell you how many many things I've altered with the products. Well if you can wait just a week or two I'll post them in early May.

Other news, I've been making birthday invites for my two little ones. This year we decided to have their birthday parties together. They are 2 years and 10 days apart. We are having an Art Party. I made the invites in the shape of an artist palette, I used white rub-ons over white paper. On the invite I include a paint brush and watercolor paint along with instructions detailing how to paint the palette to discover the details of the party. The white rub-ons act as a resist and then show up perfectly. I'll post a photo of the invites (I didn't take one yet).

Chasing Butterflies by Daisy D's

I just loved working with this line! It had such a fun summer feel! How can you not feel creative and inspired by these papers? They have a classic vintage appeal. The simple understated colors just seem to call out to me " create something, build, reinvent, construct, imagine, fabricate, just make something beautiful with me. " I felt I was able to use this line in so many different ways and each time I got a different feeling from the project. Some were whimsical others just playful. No matter what the feeling is, I just adored working with them! As you can tell I devoured this line. I have a ton of projects finished but still have paper left... What a catastrophe, to have too much paper! If we could always be so lucky.

This is my oldest daughter, she somehow, found the Halloween makeup and went to town! Then proceeded to tell me she was "sick"

My little girl, well I wish! She's never been the girly girl type and this photo shows it best. While she does have on cute princess pjs, she's a tomboy at heart. Her dad got her a new helmet for her four wheeler. What girl would smile with glee for that? And it's not even a pink helmet. Now that would make a mom proud!

I just love this layout of my girls. You see this is a rare event, they are being nice to each other. Most of the time one is telling on the other or taking something from the other. (If you look close it could be the beginning of a headlock, a sneak attack waiting to happen. But it wasn't) It was taken the day of my oldest daughters birthday party. So maybe she was in a good mood and felt like being nice....

This is a new size for me, 6 x 12. It was fast and fun. I'm going to hang it in my office.

This started out as a plain smoke colored acrylic mail sorter. As I've said before, KI Memories Gloo, is my glue of choice. It works every time.

Sweet Gracie....

My sister in law Emily and her husband Tim adopted a sweet baby girl last week and her name is Gracie. To welcome her to the family I made her a few goodies. Enjoy!

This is a hat box My sister in law Melissa gave me. She just knew I could do "something" with it! I will be putting lots more goodies and gifts inside this and mailing it to Gracie. I've included the before photo and some close ups of the top. I used Stampin up papers, I have tons of older papers that I need to use! I also used my Cricut for the name. Mermaid Tears flowers, American Crafts rub ons, Fancy Pants frame, Added a bit of ink and ribbon and there you go, I have a sweet box.

I just love the look of this paper! The inside of the hat box was pale green and white dots, so I didn't alter it.

It's been busy around here the last week. We had 4 family members with birthdays, Craig and I just had our anniversary on Sunday and Next week is Katelyns Spring Break. So It doesn't look like things will be slowing down anytime soon.

I've been working on some layouts and other projects for Scrapbook Obsessions. Lots of fun with the new Daisy D's Chasing Butterflies papers. This line is so fun, it reminds me of when I was a kid. So summer looking! So be on the lookout for them, I'll be posting them sometime April.

Scrapbook Obsessions......

Here are a few items I created with the amazing March 2007 Kit.

This is a Door Sign for my son's room. I love the papers in this kit, the blues and greens are great for boys & Girls! Now my girls each want a sign for their room. I used a canvas for this. Painted the canvas and used rub-ons and lots of ink!

Okay, if your like me you alter all these really neat things... then never know what your going to do with them. Well I am now decorating my Scraproom with most of them! As you can tell this is my new ink storage. I found this case at the local thrift store. I removed all the hardware before I covered it. And my #1 glue that I use for altered Items...... is KI MEMORIES GLOO its the best glue I've found for altering things. Now it dries fast but it holds!!!

Last but not least is the album cover I made for my son. This was a white album I got at CKC Nashville, last year. I used Walnut Ink Crystals
(FYI a little goes a long way) from Scrap Arts and dyed the cover.
After I added the rub ons I used Krylon Matte Finish spry so they wouldn't flake off.

New house

Well its been a long time! We are all moved in to the new house and recovering from Christmas! It's an adjustment moving to a new town but we are slowly learning our way around! Photo of the new house and xmas soon!!!
